The quality profession is changing rapidly, and it is crucial to involve the next generation of quality professionals to ensure its sustainability. ASQ’s NextGen Global group will explore strategies to understand, attract, and integrate the next generation into all aspects of ASQ and our workplaces, offering them opportunities to evolve into leadership roles and advance our quality community into the next generation.
Speakers’ Biographies
Claire Hopkins (she/her) is a Quality Systems and Document Control Specialist at a life sciences company in the Boston area. She is a Certified Quality Engineer and chair of ASQ’s NextGen Global Sub-Committee. She has Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Vermont in English and Plant Biology. She enjoys bringing her background in science education to her work in training and collaboration. Her work has been published in Quality Progress and Lean & Six Sigma Review.
W. Frazier Pruitt, a 2021 ASQ 40 under 40 winner, is currently quality assurance supervisor at Corning Inc and Past Chair of the ASQ Rochester Section. In his leadership of ASQ Rochester he has been integral in the launch of a new program to support youth STEM education in the region. Pruitt earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. Additionally, Pruitt completed his MBAs at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington, and the Alliance Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom. As a senior member of ASQ, Pruitt is an ASQ-certified quality engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt. He is a member of US TAG to TC176 which supports the ISO9001, and other standards. Pruitt has published on 8Ds, technical communication, and other topics, in Quality Progress and has been a past speaker at local and global conferences including WCQI.
