  • 1.  ISO 9001 and 14001 questions and advice

    Hello, i am looking for some pros and cons about ISO certifications. I work for a company that has been ISO 9001 certified for over 10 years. At our site we will be looking to add on ISO 14001. On top of that we are considering acquiring 2 other companies.  Of those 2 companies 1 of them have no known quality certification. The other is ISO 9001 certified. There could also be a newly created parent company. The true question in all of this back story is. What are the pros and cons of putting all companies into 1 certificate. What are the pros and cons of 3 or 4 individual certificates? thank you for any advice in this journey we will be traveling into.

    Hi Mr. Dysinger,

    You might want to check the description of multi site organization from IAF #1 to understand the implications of having multi sites in one certificate.

    PROS:

    1. Unified Management System
    2. One Registrar
    3. Same Audit Cycle
    4. Easy to add locations
    5. internal auditor training

    CONS:

    Higher Integration effort
