November Meeting: No One Wants to Blow the Whistle: When Must You? by Max Porter
Most of the licensed fields in Iowa allow this type of continuing education credit in ethics to maintain your license. The program is being provided by Max Porter, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., D.Mbr. ASCE, F.TMS, F.ACI, F.SEI, Dipl.ASFE, CFC, NSPE, ASQ. He is a University Professor Emeritus from Iowa State University & President of Porter Engineering, LLC. He has been a member of the ASCE Committee on Ethical Practices for several years, given numerous talks of the ethics topics, and will share with you why it is important to know what to do if someone alters your reports. He will share real experiences, even what happens when you appear on the front page of the DMS Register and you are forced to have to do something. He was President of the Structural Engineering Institute when the 9/11 events happened and has been president of six organizations.
