The Built Environment is one of the largest in the world and consumes vast amounts of resources, energy, and land. It uses approximately 50% of global steel production, produces 25-40% of carbon emissions and 30-40% of solid waste generation. Well established processes and businesses models have been unchanged for centuries, but now they are under strain because of market changes to the sector. Now, environmental performance, social impact and reusability are as important as economic efficiency and productivity.

In this webinar, we will discuss:

  1. The Construction industry and its impact on the environment and why environmental performance and responsibility is so important.

  1. Sustainability solutions such as ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management) and ISO 55001 (Asset Management).

  1. The UNSDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals) other mandates and solutions that contribute to a sustainable future in the Built Environment.

Speaker: Martin Townsend, Global Head of Sustainability Portfolio, BSI Group Inc. Martin helps industries and businesses improve in a way that makes them more commercially successful, while supporting society and reducing their impact on the environment. This is achieved through deep collaboration and cross-pollination between BSI and their clients, allowing them to innovate in a way that others cannot. For our clients, BSI does not settle for anything less than excellence, partnering with them to achieve their sustainability mandates through knowledge transfer and innovative solutions.
