Midmark Corporation - Electrical Engineer

Design, develop, document and test electronic systems, components and circuits in Midmark products, both new products and modifications to existing ones.

  • Perform routine engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Make preliminary selections or adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Analyze system requirements, customer needs, regulatory and standard compliance, device safety, device usability and cost with cross-functional consideration.
  • Design, test and troubleshoot printed circuit boards, cable assemblies, devices and systems.
  • Document descriptions and specifications of hardware and software, including design documents, purchasing specifications, manufacturing documentation, gerber files, bills of materials, test specifications, and test reports.
  • Work with cross functional teams including advanced buyers and vendors to select and procure parts and to prototype electrical assemblies, printed circuit boards and cable assemblies.
  • Apply the regulatory norms and the recognized or voluntary standards in the functional areas of the assignments.
  • Collaborate with other designers and test labs to resolve design issues related to application of standards and other compliance verification.
  • Participate in exchanges of knowledge with the members of the engineering group in the functional areas of expertise.

  • Increase/gain knowledge in other aspects of electronics engineering.
  • Provide guidance among co-ops

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree required and 2 or more years of experience preferred.

  • Experienced in the use of EDA Software, Altium or Mentor Graphics PADs preferred.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Oracle preferred. PLM Agile preferred.
  • Ability to prepare Test Protocols and Test Reports.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and use that to influence change.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and concepts.
