Supplier Audit: Brenda Bollivar

Wednesday January 21, 2026 6PM

Abstract – ASQ January 2026 dinner meeting – Supplier Auditing

Conducting a supplier audit can be challenging, but if done correctly, they can make our supply chain relationships stronger, increase the quality of the products, ensure product consistency, mitigate supply chain risks, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and ISO requirements. There are a lot of activities involved in organizing, conducting, and closing audits. During this presentation we will discuss some of the primary activities used for conducting effective supplier audits such as auditor training, supplier audit selection, types of audits, conducting the audits, and closing audits.

Bio

Brenda (seen here with her favorite co-worker, Kawi) joined Putnum Plastics Corporation (PPC) in August 2024 as a supplier Quality Engineer. She has over 30 years of experience in various quality roles, with the past 10+ years focusing on supplier management. Prior to PPC, she worked for Organogenesis for over 18 years. Her background includes extensive supplier management and auditing, along with experience with most quality processes. She has conducted nearly 200 supplier audits including everything from slaughterhouses to testing labs to sterilization providers to CMOs, and everything in between. In her current position, she restructured the supplier management system to align with the recent growth of PPC, manages all raw material nonconformances, and coordinates all activities for expired products.

She has also been a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) instructor in Massachusetts for 19 years teaching beginners how to ride motorcycles. Her hobbies include traveling, fishing, tying flies for fly fishing, riding her motorcycle, and almost anything outdoors. Brenda has earned a BA degree in Geology with a Geography concentration from the University of Maine at Farmington. Her ASQ certifications include Quality Auditor, Calibration Technology, Six Sigma Green Belt, Medical Device Auditing, and Quality Management. She has been an ASQ Senior Member since 2007.
