ASQ Automotive Division is doing their third year in awarding sponsorships for First Robotics.  Look for the ASQ Automotive logo when the teams compete!!

First’s mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self- confidence, communication, and leadership.

ASQ’s mission is to empower individuals and communities of the world to achieve excellence through quality.

Submissions were due 12/1/22 for Michigan FRC teams.

The Contest send an essay (with pictures) or video that includes the following:

1.      Describe your FIRST Team’s most exciting and challenging problem your team overcame and how you did this.

2.      In the Quality field, we often use the Fishbone Diagram as a brain-storming tool to list potential causes of a problem.  Using your problem from Question 1, develop a Fishbone Diagram.  Feel free to use drawings or color to make it more interesting.

See this ASQ (American Society for Quality) reference on the Fishbone Diagram

3.      What was the root cause or causes for the problem described in Question 1. What was your solution and corrective action?

4.      Engineers are problem-solvers.  What insight has your FIRST Team learned about problem-solving so far on your FIRST activities?
