Session Abstract:

“AI in Quality” sounds exciting, but what does it actually look like inside a large, complex organization with real constraints, real risk, and real customers?

In this session, Frederick Frenzel shares how HarperCollins partnered with Atlassian to embed Rovo AI and automation into its enterprise DemandtoDeliver workflow – the process that governs how business requests are submitted, evaluated, prioritized, and delivered across a global portfolio of work.

Rather than treating AI as a bolton tool, the team focused on using AI to improve quality at every stage: clearer intake and requirements, more consistent evaluation criteria, better visibility into risk and dependencies, and tighter feedback loops during delivery. Along the way, they tackled familiar quality challenges: scattered data, inconsistent processes, manual handoffs, and resistance to change.

Attendees will learn:

Practical patterns for introducing AI into existing quality and governance processes

How to use AI to reduce rework and defects by improving upstream decision quality

What worked (and what didn’t) when balancing innovation with controls, compliance, and stakeholder trust

This is a candid, practitioner’s view of AI in quality – grounded in a realworld deployment, not a lab demo – with lessons you can adapt to your own organization regardless of industry or toolset.

Speaker:

Frederick Frenzel has driven strategic growth for multibillion dollar businesses for nearly 20 years across project management, operations, technology, and creative media. As an Enterprise Leader at HarperCollins, he led the partnership with Atlassian to embed Rovo AI and automation into its DemandtoDeliver workflow – the endtoend process for the submission, evaluation, and delivery of business requests within HarperCollins’ portfolio. His work focuses on using AI to improve quality, reduce friction, and create transparent, data-driven decision making at scale.
