In the world of continuous improvement, we are most likely to encounter opportunities or issues that fit into three areas: people, process, and systems.
Process and systems are arguably the easiest of the three to tackle, because let’s face it, people are tough. When people, or change issues, are present, simply changing or creating a new process or system won’t always yield improvements if the people side of the change remains unaddressed.
There are many ways we can incorporate change management right into our improvement process, helping to uncover the root cause, identify possible future state sticking points, and developing great implementation plans for people based on what you’ve learned during the process, making the people side of process improvement more successful.
