Creating plant-wide enthusiasm for Operational Excellence!

Many organizations today are in a journey to create an Operational Excellence (OpEx) culture. Unfortunately, this journey is not always easy and sometimes people may wonder how they could create more buy-in from the different stakeholders, typically:

  • What are the components of a typical Operational Excellence road-map?
  • What is the best way to start the Operational excellence journey?
  • How can I create a pull for the Continuous Improvement practices and tools from the employees?
  • How do I integrate the daily management boards with structured problem solving and the Hoshin Kanri process?

This presentation and workshop is based on a real-life case study from the Operational Excellence experience of a pulp mill and how plant-wide enthusiasm about Operational Excellence was generated. It will include the following topics:

  • The context of the pulp mill as they started their OpEx journey;
  • The principles defined to guide the implementation;
  • The strategy chosen to introduce OpEx;
  • How that strategy was deployed and the results obtained.

Attendees will leave this presentation with a better understanding of the principles supporting a successful OpEx implementation, as well as a renewed enthusiasm about continuous improvement!
