Summary of presentation: The Catapult is used by hundreds of companies and universities for demonstrating and training for topics such as designed experiments, statistical process control (SPC) charts, basic statistics, and cause and effect training. Just like any process, the catapult has many controllable factors that impact the outcome (distance) of the projected ball. It is great for team exercises and for applying statistical methods to real problems. It makes training fun!
In this session, we will use the catapult to create a control chart based on a combination of process parameter settings. Once the control chart is set up with a centerline and control limits, we will generate and plot more data and check for special-cause variation. By building a control chart, we will be able to determine if our process is stable (free from special causes of variation). When our process is stable, prediction can also be made about its capability.
Come and learn how to use these great tool for teaching various statistical quality topics at your organization.
