TOPIC: “Operational Excellence and the Quality Manager”
SPEAKER: Dr. Richard Chua, Author, MBB Trainer, Consultant and Full Professor at The Jack Welch Management Institute
BIO: An author, trainer, and consultant, Dr. Richard Chua enables companies to design, control, and improve products, services, processes, and quality systems. His successes have been published as cover stories in the American Society for Quality's (ASQ) Six Sigma Forum and Quality Progress magazines, which he co-authored with the CEO of Samsung Electronics, and with the Operations Executive at Genentech (now part of Roche), respectively. He is also the author of LinkedIn Learning courses on Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma and Quality Management.
Dr. Chua is a certified master black belt in both Lean Six Sigma DMAIC and Design for Six Sigma DFSS/DMADV. He was certified over 25 years ago by his mentor, the late quality guru Dr. Joseph M. Juran. He has personally trained and certified over 10,000 champions, green belts, and black belts, and over 100 master black belts in Fortune 500 companies and multinationals in the Americas, EMEA and Asia.
ABSTRACT: In many companies, Operational Excellence initiatives are often assigned to, or led and driven by those in charge of the Quality function. Is that the right role for Quality Managers? By the way, what is Operational Excellence? How should it be implemented? What is the role of the Quality Manager in Operational Excellence? These questions will be examined. Also, success tips for Operational Excellence will be shared in this session.
