That revision was a major one, moving the standard from an 8-clause structure to the 10-clause one, in part to help with the future integration of management system standards. Then in 2016, other quality system standards adapted those changes, including aerospace and automotive. Since then much has happened! Covid, AI, chronic issues across many established systems, and areas that need more focus and emphasis going forward.
