By acknowledging the difficulties associated with change and providing support, encouragement, and clear communications, we can help individuals and organizations embrace change and Continuous Improvements more effectively. As continuous improvement practitioners, we don’t always think about the impact our continuous improvement initiatives will have on the employees.

🌟About the Presenter – Melissa Sherman
Melissa Sherman brings over 27 years of experience in the utility industry, having worked across Investor-Owned and Cooperative organizations. Her diverse background spans Electric and Gas Distribution Engineering, Renewable and Hydro Generation, Fossil Generation Scheduling, and Enterprise Change. She has led initiatives in lean methodology and change management, improving operations through warehouse redesigns, automation, and value stream analysis. Her data-driven approach to process improvement has delivered measurable results aligned with company-wide breakthrough objectives.
Outside of her industry work, Melissa has taught college-level courses since 2008 in management, entrepreneurship, and industrial engineering, often drawing from her real-world experience to connect theory with practice. She holds a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering Technology, a Master’s in Leadership Studies, and multiple certifications in project and change management. Passionate about coaching others through continuous improvement, Melissa thrives on helping people achieve those “ah ha” moments that lead to lasting change.
