Save the date! On November 14th at 5:30pm Eastern, the State of Indiana's LeanIN employee group will discuss their successes and lessons learned regarding lean and continuous improvement in their represented agencies.

LeanIN (SOI) is a State of Indiana participant-driven group, made up of state employees focused on:

1. Applying continuous improvement (CI) methods and eliminating waste in business processes throughout the state in order to use tax dollars as efficiently as possible.

2. Applying quality improvement methods in order to improve on and strive to provide excellent services to those we serve.

Our speakers will include:

Mark Ashworth, Department of Revenue [DOR]: Mark currently serves as Director, Business Systems Support for DOR. Under his direction are the business analyst, operational effectiveness, program management, electronic services, continuous improvement, and internal audit teams.

Mr. Ashworth has served in operational and support leadership roles for nearly 25 years. His Revenue teams drive continuous improvements endeavors and other efforts to ensure agency compliance and effectiveness while enriching and advancing a culture recognized as a local and national Top Workplace, the first state government agency in Indiana to reach and maintain these honors.

Alison Briles, Department of Revenue [DOR]: Alison currently serves the Agency & Business Systems Support Manager for DOR. Her team is comprised of business analysts, continuous improvement, and operational effectiveness. Alison has served in operational leadership roles for nearly 15 years in both the private and public sectors. The team focuses on helping business units better understand their current state and where efficiencies could be gained either systematically or procedurally. 

Tracy Hopkins, Department of Child Services [DCS]: Tracy has been with the State of Indiana for 21 years. Tracy is a passionate advocate of continuous improvement and has served as the Director of Continuous Improvement with DCS since 2019. In this role, she has guided the improvement efforts of the agency through the completion of over 120 improvement events and training of over 2500 staff on Lean concepts and tools. 

Martin Miller, Public Retirement System [INPRS]:

Martin Miller has been with INPRS for 8 years. He is currently serving in the role of Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist. Before joining INPRS, Martin held management positions in business and manufacturing.
