Speaker Biography: Andrea Tompkins is currently serving as a Quality Analyst within the Quality Analytics & Statistical Support department of the American Red Cross Biomedical Services. Andrea also serves as a Wellness Champion for her department for developing and maintaining healthy habits. Andrea has functioned as a Billing Assistant and as a Quality Assurance Specialist. Andrea received her B.A. in Nursing Education from the University Clinic in Ulm/Germany and an associate’s degree in Computer Specialty. She has served in a quality role throughout her 21-year career.

Presentation Overview: This presentation focuses on the cultivation and implementation of lean tools and philosophy at Wright Manufacturing, a commercial lawn care equipment manufacturer, enabling increased operational excellence. We will step through an actual Jishuken event that resulted in improved lean practitioner knowledge and processes, while providing practical tools and techniques for attendees to try out, including work balance, yamazumi, and kaizen. Through the discussion of these topics, attendees will gain insights and knowledge on how to implement lean manufacturing principles in their own organizations and enhance their overall operational efficiency.
Speaker Biography: Kevin King is Continuous Improvement Manager at Wright Manufacturing and Past Chair for the Washington, DC and Maryland Metro Section of ASQ. He is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Auditor, and an Eaton certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
