Presentation Title
: Using Statistical Methods for Creating Better Knowledge in Engineering Labs
Summary of presentation:
David Douglas and Mustafa Shraim will be presenting a case study utilizing an engineering laboratory process and statistical quality methods. Generally, competencies taught in labs, such as injection molding or additive manufacturing, are presented to students as steps to operate the process and create a product. In this case study, design of experiments (DOE) is used to understand the impact of input variables used on the quality of the product being produced. The objective of using design of experiments here is to provide alternative methods for deeper understanding of manufacturing technologies being taught in a variety of lab-based courses.
