Hi all! I am fairly new to the quality world and my organization recently decided to become ISO 9001: 2015 certified. I am looking for any training course (or book) recommendations to increase my knowledge for this implementation process, as I'll be playing a large role! I've been looking at the ASQ “Implementing and Auditing an ISO 9001:2015 QMS” course but there are no current offerings at this time so maybe there are compatible recommendations. Thank you!

    Hello,

I current work under the standard, ISO 13485:2016, for quality management system of medical devices. To my understanding it is very similar to ISO 9001. I've attached a PDF of a book I have regarding ISO 9001. I hope it helps.

    Sincerely,

HI Morgan,  I have implemented ISO-9001 as well as the automotive additions QS/9000 and IATF 16949 several times for different types of companies and I have many years experience managing these systems.  I'm also now a part time 3rd party auditor for a registrar- the type of company that would certify your company. I'm sure the ASQ course is one good way to start. A good internal auditing course on ISO-9001 is also a good- it will give you the idea and give you a clear picture of what you're getting into.  Omnex also has courses (just google them).  A good mentor can also be priceless.  I have some open time this week and I'm happy to chat or just have a call with you.  I just have a passion for this stuff.   Feel free to just DM through the system if you like.

    Hello Morgan!

I hope that your journey to ISO certification has been smooth and rewarding. I am a little late to this thread but if there are still roadblocks that you are trying to overcome, I will be glad to offer some assistane.  Implementing a QMS should start with defining the Context of the Organization - which will help you establish policy, scope, objectives, and to determine the extent to which controls should be implemented, develop processes and procedures, and establish metrics for gauging the effectiveness of your QMS. Of course, a culture of continuous improvement is a pre-requisite.
