I have just started a new job in western Canada, and I will be spear-heading the journey to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.  I am looking for recommendations for a global organisations (we also have offices in the US and UK which will, in time, also work towards compliance and need their own certifications).  Who do you use, and are you satisfied with the service you get?  Are they timely to respond to requests and queries?  Engineering specialty preferable.  Thank you!

We use Intertek. We are an engineering services and tech pubs company, but we do not do design. Our auditors have increasingly been a better fit, especially as we transitioned to ISO 9001:2015. Positives: they are large, offer multiple certifications, have auditors all over, and offer a lot of training.

Negatives: Communication and continuity. Each year the scheduling person is different, we rarely have the same auditor twice, I don't feel that their responses are timely but I may have high expectations.

My biggest disappointment has been their online portal. Their marketing department really plays it up, but it is not used up to its potential. I have put questions, scheduling requests, and personnel changes in the portal, but they don't generally get responses.

Overall, though, it's been a decent experience. Not outstanding, but sufficient.

We also use DNV (Det Norske Vertias). (https://www.dnvgl.us/)They span multiple fields, having offices throughout the US and UK (https://www.dnvgl.us/contact/find-our-offices.html) . My company has used them for years and really likes their services. They do all ISO and will even come down to do a GAP assessment and training, if you need it (though we use BSI for our ISO training). I have been personally having some technical problems, but when I contacted our auditor directly, he has been going out of his way to makes sure that they are getting resolved. You could start there.
