Passed my CMQ/OE exam!
I have been furloughed from my job since August, and I decided to use this time to prepare for the exam. I am so glad I purchased the question bank. I went through each set a few times and in the process became very familiar with the BOK. I'm not sure what will become of my employment situation but I know this certification will help me in my career endeavors.

Hi James Demerritt‍ - CONGRATULATIONS!  It will certainly help in your job search.  Be sure to keep an eye out for jobs on the ASQ Career Center for opportunities.
Best of luck & please reach out if I can help you with anything
Thank you very much.

Good morning James and all! James congratulations! I am preparing for the same exam. I purchased "The CMQ/OE" book. Did that also help? Or do you suggest any other materials?

Hello Russell. Since the test is open book, you will definitely want to have it with you. Read the test instructions carefully so you understand what you can and can't bring. Again, I bought the CMQ/OE question bank, and I found it to be really valuable. There are three complete sets of questions and you can take them as timed tests, or you can take them as review questions, which will explain the answer to each one. The question bank helped me understand the concepts and methodologies that are found in the exam. I'm a little short on formal quality education, so I felt that I needed that reinforcement. The way the questions are worded is important too. You can get tripped up if you're not paying close attention.
There are a couple books that are referred to in the question bank that I own. They are the "Quality Toolbox" (excellent book) and "Juran's Quality Handbook". They are useful, but not necessary for the test.
Lastly, lean on your experience and knowledge. That is the most valuable thing. Good luck with your exam!
