Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Process Steps

Good day everyone -

I'm researching and potentially interested in pursuing a Six Sigma - Green Belt certification.  Currently, I am PMP Certified so I feel the Green Belt will compliment the PMP well.  With that said, I am reaching out to anyone who can provide advice on how they went about on obtaining the Green Belt.

What preparation did you do?  I see that ASQ offers an online class, was this helpful on passing the exam?  In my preparation for my PMP exam, I've read the standard guideline book (PMBOK), took many mock-exams, and studied.  PMP also required the individual to take a 35-hour educational class.

I'm wondering what other individuals have done to prepared themselves on passing the examination?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Scott,

the general process is the same, however, Six Sigma Certification requires completing a project that showcases the tools and skills being learned.  You might also consider Six Sigma Black Belt certification.  If you are working for a company that has already deployed Six Sigma, then as a Green Belt you'd support projects lead by a Black Belt.  If you are interested in leading Six Sigma projects, then Black Belt may be more aligned with this goal.
