Striving for Quality out of a Sense of Duty

Fairly new to being a full time quality professional, I have been in quality assurance for 16 years, 7 of which in a decision making capacity. But as a technical expert in materials testing by trade and personnel management & radiation safety administrator by demand, I’ve always had too many things to manage to ever truly dive deep into the weeds on some of the fundamental basics of quality using the tools necessary to truly solve QMS/process standard deviation phenomena.

I am venturing into a new role after an involuntary sabbatical for 7 months, I am leaving the service industry behind and entering into the fast paced environment of aerospace and automotive parts manufacturing. I have no ASQ certifications currently but have my sights on at least an CQE and a CSQP. My new role is in supply chain quality engineering. A topic I’ve had experience in for years, but limited in scope due primarily to lack of resources. But now I have access to more than I know what to do with.

My goal here is to gain a small network of peers and establish a small community to share professional anecdotes as well as seek advice. I haven’t started yet but will in the next week or two. I will be around! looking forward to working with all of you.
