Job Title: Quality Technician
The Lincoln Electric Company--Kaliburn location engineers and manufactures plasma cutting systems, plasma torches, plasma consumables and control system units for high-tech cutting applications. Building new products that constantly raise the bar in the industry is possible through a strong foundation of engineering talent such as mechanical, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and software engineers.

Responsible for measurement equipment programming, establishing control plans for machined parts, and maintaining the calibration system at the Ladson facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop measurement programming for machined parts
Review schematics for compliance to industry and company standards
Coordinate Monitoring and Measurement Equipment acquisition, assignment, maintenance, and calibration
Gather and disseminate measurement data to develop and implement solutions
Create and revise documentation of work processes and mechanical test instructions
Interpret/adapt mechanical schematics and blueprints for maintenance, modification and quality control plan creation
Operate independently as required
Partner with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, machine operators, and site managers to support their functions
Assist Quality Manager with employees’ skill development
Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires
REQUIRED SKILLS
3 years’ experience with Zeiss Calypso or other CMM programming language OR 5 years in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of geometric and dimensional tolerancing
Experience with Minitab or other statistical software
Proficient operation of general purpose measurement equipment including micrometers, pin gages, etc.
Knowledge of Six Sigma and LEAN manufacturing principles and application
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both written and verbally.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Associate's degree in electrical/ mechanical engineering or related discipline
Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt Certification
Quality Inspector and/or Quality Technician certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, airborne particles, and machine lubricants and chemicals used in cleaning processes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
