Reducing inspection by using soft sensors
Abstract:
In many organizations, a lot of process data is captured automatically from sensors & transmitters. Those process data can often be used to predict quality characteristics of the final product. In this presentation you will learn how we can use process measurements to predict the result of a final inspection test resulting in lower inspection cost and faster learning on the process.

Speaker Bio: Martin Carignan is a consultant having more than twenty years of experience in the field of industrial statistics and performance improvement. He is an associate at Différence GCS. He holds a Bachelor degree in Mathematics, a Master degree in Statistics and an MBA. He provides consulting and training in Lean Six Sigma as well as on the application of multiple statistical tools: Design of experiments, multivariate analysis, acceptance sampling, statistical process control, etc.

Eastman in the Circular Economy: Urgent Problem, Transformative Solutions
Abstract:
We are in the middle of a plastic waste crisis, perpetuated by a global pandemic. The limitations of traditional recycling technologies and its economic challenges present significant roadblocks in tackling this problem. To truly transform into a global circular economy for plastics, the acceptance and implementation of molecular recycling technologies is essential. While there is no single solution to solve this growing crisis nor is any single company or industry alone able to fully address, there are innovations and technologies like Eastman’s material-to-material molecular recycling technologies to help.
Speaker Bio: Jayme Leita

As director of circular economy integration within the corporate innovation department at Eastman, Jayme Leita is responsible for leading the development of capabilities required to deploy Eastman’s Advanced Circular Recycling technologies across the enterprise and into the marketplace.
Leita has been with Eastman since 2003 and has worked in a variety of roles in technology, marketing, and business. His experience includes process improvement, technical service, product and market development, and platform management. He has played significant roles in the design, development, commercialization, and global market activation of six new products for Eastman. In his current role, he is applying his experience to integrate the fundamentals of circularity into a platform of innovation for Eastman.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Tennessee Technological University and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Jayme lives in Johnson City, Tenn., with his wife Molly, their two children, Lacy and Benji, and the family dogs, Chip and Jo. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, boating, reading, and traveling with his family.
