ASQ Detroit 2020 Year end message from the Chair

Published
Dear Colleagues,

The ASQ Greater Detroit Section hopes this email is finding you, your family, and friends safe and healthy as we continue with the holiday season.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has experienced loss or suffered in any way during this Covid 19 Pandemic.
Wearing masks and social distancing has been ongoing as the rate of infections continues to climb.  With the recent release of a new vaccine, the hope is to get enough people vaccinated so that we can return to some form of normalcy we had prior to this pandemic.  These are difficult times that can create anxiety but can also provide opportunities to check on family and neighbors, spend quality time with family, work with the children so they keep up with academics, and volunteer to deliver food or supplies to those in need.   We are all grateful and appreciate the 1st responders, essential healthcare and non-healthcare workers who have stepped up to make sure everyone is supported during this pandemic.

Please continue to monitor the websites listed below for updates on the coronavirus:

I am very proud and grateful for the service from your Executive Committee leaders and the volunteers who continue to support this ASQ Greater Detroit Section and have provided events given the constraints.  I am very grateful and proud of our membership with their patience as we work through this uncharted journey.  The ASQ Greater Detroit Section is continuing to collaborate with ASQ national on providing a remote solution for future events as the direction from ASQ National is no ASQ events Face to Face through 4/30/2021 as of last week 12/11/20.  They are also working to secure a quicker turnaround time for RU letters and your patience and understanding has been important as the Section and National work through these issues.

We will continue to keep you updated through the weekly email, the asqdetroit.org community webpage and social media for the January through April 2021 General Meetings and future event communications.
.
Have a safe, healthy and happy holiday season!!

Sincerely,

John Boulahanis, PE, CSSBB, MBA, MSECCS
ASQ GDS Chair and Senior Member
