2024 AIAG CONTROL PLAN Manual
– What’s New and Will It Lead to Stronger or Weaker Process Control Plans?
On March 5, 2024, the AIAG announced that the CONTROL PLAN Reference Manual was available for sale. It has been almost sixteen years since the 2008 ADVANCED PRODUCT QUALITY PLANNING (APQP) AND CONTROL PLAN Reference Manual Second Edition (“2008 AIAG APQP Manual”) describing how to implement Control Plans was published.
The webinar will begin with a brief description of the history and purpose of the Control Plan. An explanation will next be provided on what’s new and what remains the same when the new CONTROL PLAN Reference Manual is compared with the Control Plan methodology described in Chapter 6 “Control Plan Methodology” of the 2008 AIAG APQP Manual.
While the new CONTROL PLAN Reference Manual is guaranteed to lead to increased AIAG Control Plan related manual and training sales, the key question that must be answered is will the contents of the new manual lead to improved Control Plans?
