Hello ASQ 509 Membership!

I remember registering to attend the Strategy Planning Meeting in February 2020. I was very new to Quality and ASQ and knew I needed to be associated with knowledgeable and passionate quality professionals. Having never attended this type of meeting, I didn’t know what to expect. During the meeting, we shared ideas of recruitment, engagement of current members and moving the chapter forward. I was inspired by the many contributions from attendees, and left the meeting empowered to become a member leader to make a difference. I was very new to Quality and ASQ and knew I needed to be associated with knowledgeable and passionate quality professionals.

I am Doris Leftwich your Knowledge Chair.

I decided to become a member leader of Section 509 to:

• Network (Learn from experts)
• Learn (expand knowledge and skill set)
• Give back (share knowledge)
• ASQ: Connect Grow Thrive

What is Knowledge Management?

Knowledge Management includes Knowledge,
Information, and Data

1. Encompasses a broad range of practices, tools, concepts, and techniques.
2. Generates value by organizing what employees, partners and customers know and distributing that information companywide to devise best practices in alignment with the Strategic Plan.
3. Knowledge Management is usually facilitated by the Information Technology Department which could be known as Information Solutions Group.

Chapter leadership works well together, so that makes my role easy to be effective.

During my tenure as Knowledge Chair I:

1. Collaborated with Member Leaders
2. Facilitated the transfer of files from the old SharePoint site to the new SharePoint
   site
3. Set up permissions on the new SharePoint Site. 
4. Set up the SharePoint Library
5. Organized documents
