AI‑enabled vision inspection can look impressive in a demo, but real production environments are far more demanding. Variability in materials, lighting, vibration, and human judgment all influence detection accuracy, and without disciplined quality‑engineering practices, even advanced systems can produce inconsistent results. This presentation focuses on the practical, on‑the‑floor challenges that determine whether AI inspection becomes a reliable tool or just another experiment that never scales.
Drawing from hands‑on experience in high‑volume manufacturing, the session highlights the essentials: clear defect definitions, quantifiable decision logic, evaluation under real operating conditions, operator trust, and effective management of false positives and false negatives. Attendees will see how improving the consistency of inspection data allows vision systems to evolve from simple defect detectors into valuable sources of quality intelligence that strengthen trend analysis, root‑cause investigation, and decision‑making.
