Chair’s Corner – SURVEY SAYS …

from Denise Fast

Thank You to all of you that took the time to complete our recent online survey.  We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to providing more opportunities for our section in the future.

Interest regarding in-person, virtual, and/or combination meetings received similar results across each of these options.  Regarding costs associated with meetings, however, the majority of respondents indicated they are not willing at this time to cover the costs associated with in-person meetings.  So, at this time, we will continue with virtual meetings.  We will also keep looking for in-person meeting venues with more reasonable costs.

In response to questions about networking events and site visits/tours, over 90% of you expressed an interest in these.  The following companies/organizations were suggested:

·         ATI Richland Operations

·         Second Harvest

·         Tri-City Union Gospel Mission

·         Lamb Weston

·         Energy Northwest

·         Amazon

·         Wagstaff International

·         Conagra

·         Local Government

·         Other Non-Profit

We are looking into possibly holding a section networking event sometime in June; locations being considered at this time are Three-Eyed Fish, Bombing Range Brewing Company, or The Dugout (Richland).  If you have preferences or other suggestions, please reach out to me or another member of the leadership team.  At the networking event, we can discuss interest in site visits and start working to schedule one (or more) for later this year.

Thank you again for participating in the survey.  We look forward to having an opportunity to connect further with everyone.
