Monday, Feb 16 marked ASQs 80th Anniversary and I am feeling incredibly proud
I have the honor of serving as the 2026 ASQ Chair, which gives me a front-row seat to what makes this community special. At its heart, ASQ is about people, people who care about doing work well, asking better questions, and making things better than they were before.
My journey with ASQ began in 1990 at the height of the quality improvement movement within industry. I've had the opportunity to be on the front line of the movement - taking businesses from Control to Assurance, the birth of ISO 9001 as the global quality standard and finally imbedding quality into every aspect of business.
For decades, quality professionals have made a difference, improving systems, protecting customers, helping organizations grow stronger and more resilient. That difference continues today.
To our members, volunteers, staff, and partners: thank you. You’re the reason this milestone matters and why the future of ASQ feels so promising.
Here’s to 80 years of learning, leadership, and impact and to what we’ll build together next.
