What can ASQ do for you? Maximizing your ASQ membership Follow-up

By Andrea Plummer-Beagle posted 10/16/23 02:50 PM

We would like to express our gratitude to Lorri Williams for being the gracious host of this ASQ event. We were thrilled to have a total of 15 members in attendance, including members from Michigan and Missouri who joined us!

Lorri provided an informative presentation on ASQ, including its purpose and the valuable benefits it offers.

  • As a member, you have the opportunity to join any communities that align with your interests. By utilizing myASQ, you can effectively network and enhance your learning experience within these communities. There are communities related to Quality Management, Audit, Six Sigma, Automotive, Government, Statistics, Software, etc.
  • ASQ has a plethora of training, webinars, and conference opportunities through myASQ (many free webinars through divisions).
  • ASQ has 18 certifications and a certification pathway tool-this is a great mark of knowledge for many industries.
  • ASQ has a Career Center filled with job opportunities-you can post an open role or you can apply for quality roles.
  • The monthly member only gift package is themed monthly (Jan 2023-career success, Feb 2023-problem analysis tools) and provides free resources.
  • Networking opportunities (conferences, webinars, sectional levels, communities, mentor program, etc).
  • Leadership opportunities (regional, divisional, or sectional).
  • Forums
  • Speaking and presenting at conferences, webinars, or at a sectional level.
  • Mentoring (Lorri is a mentor currently), Kim Thompson runs this program, her email is kthompson@asq.org for questions.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

For those interested in volunteering, there is a potential opportunity to create a student chapter of Northern Nevada ASQ. This would provide a valuable platform for students to engage with ASQ and its resources.

In addition, Tom Taormina is speaking at the Audit Division Conference on November 2nd & 3rd, 2023 at the Peppermill Reno. This is a rich content and networking opportunity! Register here: https://asq.org/conferences/audit-division
