Presentation Speaker: Miguel Olivares, Senior International Trade Specialist

Miguel is a Senior International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service-the export promotion branch of the U.S. Government, where he guides and counsels export-minded U.S. companies ranging from first time exporters, to seasoned firms looking to increase their international sales. His experience both domestically and overseas includes event management, international marketing, cross-cultural communication, international relations, and US Government operations. Miguel joined the Commercial Service in 1997. moving to Florida in 2004. He has a master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Oregon, a Bachelor’s in International Relations and History from the University of California (UCLA), and has studied economics at Monash University in Australia and European Union Law in France. Stationed in the U.S. Commercial Service office Ft. Lauderdale, Miguel specializes in Healthcare, Environmental industries, Advanced Manufacturing, and Consumer Goods. Miguel was born and raised in Southern California and never grew out of saying “dude”.
