Nominations for the 2024 - 2025 Regional Director position for the South Atlantic Region are now open. Senior ASQ 1510 members who have previously held an elected board position (e.g. Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, or Treasurer) are eligible. See below for rules and requirements. Interested members must submit their request for nomination to ASQSoutheastFlorida@sections.asq.org by Sunday, July 23rd 11:59p.m. eastern for consideration.
Eligibility:
1. Nominee is a Senior Professional member in good standing.
2. Nominee has served in an elected section position: Chair, Chair-Elect, Vice Chair, Secretary or Treasurer.
3. Nominee understands that he/she may not hold another elected position during the term for Region Director, except as a Board Member or Geographic Communities Council Chair or Vice Chair elected by the GCC.
4. Nominee has reviewed the Region Director position description, provided by your current Region Director.
5. Nominee confirmed willingness to serve prior to submission.
6. Nominee is aware of Election Rules for Contested Election
1) In order to put each candidate on a level playing field:
a. Candidates are prohibited from campaigning or having others campaign for them.
i. There will be no use of ASQ mailing lists or other society resources.
ii. There will be no use of ASQ Society funds or solicitation of funds from individual members or member units (sections, divisions, regions, etc.) for campaign purposes.
iii. ASQ organizations and its members, including committees, councils, member units, and subsidiaries, cannot endorse a candidate either in writing or verbally.
b. Candidates can talk to individual members who initiate contact with them.
2) The candidate’s biographical information shall be distributed to all Section Chairs within the Region.
3) Component Relations will validate the ballots.
4) All violations of these rules will be brought before the Ethics Committee.

3. Nominee biography of no more than 250 words
