WCQI 2025 – THERE IS STILL TIME TO SIGN UP!
by Jo Haberstok
I wonder how many of our section members will be attending WCQI? Although I haven’t heard from anyone or seen any comments on our myASQ Community yet, I hope many will be participating.
This year’s event is being held May 4-7 in Denver. What a great location! There are so many fun and interesting things you could do in the area before, during (after hours), and following the conference.
WCQI stands as a premier global forum dedicated to driving excellence in quality management, continuous improvement, and organizational success. Each year, it brings together industry leaders, practitioners, and visionaries who are united by a shared commitment to innovation, collaboration, and impactful results. By fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas, tools, and best practices, WCQI empowers participants to tackle complex challenges, seize new opportunities, and inspire positive transformations within their organizations and communities. This event is not just a conference - it's a catalyst for meaningful progress and a testament to the power of collective expertise.
The previous paragraph was taken from the WCQI website. It’s true and it’s good information.
But if you’ve never been to one of these conferences and really want to know what they are like and what to expect, I want to share a little about some of my personal past experiences.
I’m not able to attend this year’s conference, but I have participated in several in the past. I have to admit that my favorite past conferences were actually the Association for Quality & Participation (AQP) Spring conferences (this was before AQP merged in with ASQ in 2004 – wow, it’s been a while!) I remember a lot of fun times in great cities, including Baltimore, New Orleans, Orlando, San Antonio, and more. And some really great keynote speakers, too – Tom Peters, Ken Blanchard, Jennifer James, Morris Massey, Rick Pitino, Joe Theismann, Ben & Jerry (yes, they brought ice cream!), and others.
I have also participated in several of ASQ’s WCQI events in recent years and experienced a lot of great speakers and presentations. The educational sessions offer something for everyone, with topics covering quality tools and techniques, data management, risk management, using games for teambuilding and problem solving, software and AI applications, and more.
This year’s conference includes two keynote speakers (Eric Boles and Joel Hilchey), workshops, case studies, and opportunities to meet other quality professionals and network. More information and the registration form are available here.
