  •  The Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP) is a process that allows the organization enables all stakeholders to participate in translating the business plan into an actionable the plan.

  • S&OP provides one plan or set of numbers for everyone to use.

    • What will be sold and when.

    • How much inventory is needed and when.

    • What needs to be built/bought and when.

    • Where the inventory is needed and when.

  • Any S&OP content that’s being delivered to an executive audience must be more robust than just rolling up the same material from previous process steps. 

  • Gain insights about the importance of knowing your audience knowing your audience and how that helps you to provide relevant data and metrics for executives and develop solution-based consensus. 

• Speaker Bio:
  
  • Janet Steiner, CPIM, CSCP, CLTD is President of Lean Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. 
  • She has worked with a number of small businesses to implement Sales and Operations Planning as a means to better run their businesses.
  • Janet worked at Ace Hardware for 11 years where she worked as an accountant, system analyst, and Production Planning Manager for the Paint Manufacturing Division.  
  • She left Ace Hardware to join Westell Technologies, Inc. where Janet worked for 12 years in Planning, Inventory Control, and subsequently became the Director of Distribution and Logistics until moving to Iowa.  
  • She played a pivotal role in implementing Sales and Operations Planning.  Janet is also an adjunct facility member of Fox Valley Technical College.
