ASQ CEO Appointment Announcement
We are excited to announce that Ann Jordan has been named the next CEO of ASQ. She assumes this role after serving as Interim CEO of the Society since January 2020.
When the CEO position became vacant in October 2019, the ASQ Board had an opportunity to re-envision how the leadership role could be better defined to guide the Society through its next phase of organizational and cultural growth. We are confident that we have found in Ann a partner dedicated to delivering heightened value for current and next-generation members, evolving our offerings to reflect digital transformation and other industry changes, and advancing the quality mission around the world.
During the CEO search process, ASQ unexpectedly had to assess and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as significant social unrest. Despite the constant barrage of uncertainty and change around us, ASQ remained focused on providing member support and engagement and the development of critical strategic initiatives.
In collaboration with the ASQ Board of Directors, Ann’s leadership throughout these unprecedented times positioned the Society for financial stability and future growth. In 2020, ASQ exceeded pre-pandemic budget projections and transformed its headquarters operations. Ann executed the creation of an entirely new Executive Leadership Team committed to Society improvements, such as technology and digital enhancements, an advanced educational experience, the development of programs for young quality professionals, and an expanded global training network.
Before being promoted to Interim CEO, Ann joined ASQ in 2017 as our first-ever General Counsel. She was an active member of the Executive Leadership Team, and, among other responsibilities, oversaw the Society’s risk management, legal, governance, and compliance needs. Ann also created the corporate and governance structure of our partner organization, ASQExcellence.
Prior to joining ASQ, Ann held leadership roles and global responsibilities in diverse industry areas committed to quality systems and improvement, including original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), and insurance and risk management solutions. She began her career as a practicing lawyer before transitioning into business management.
Our full-time ASQers value her leadership and commitment to positive culture. Despite the turbulence of 2020, employee satisfaction increased an additional 21%, and senior management satisfaction surpassed industry benchmarks. Staff indicated they are motivated to go above and beyond what is normally expected to help the organization be successful. Culture starts at the top, and Ann lives that culture every day. She is a strong proponent of diversity, equity, and inclusion and looks forward to making ASQ a Society where everyone is welcome and encouraged to share their ideas.
In the coming weeks, we will roll out the 2021-2022 strategic plan. Ann and the Executive Leadership Team will be valuable partners in bringing these goals to life and advancing ASQ. These are exciting times for our organization, and we thank you for your ongoing dedication to the quality profession and our mission.
We look forward to everything ahead of us in 2021 and beyond. Please join us in congratulating Ann Jordan on her appointment as ASQ CEO!
