Overall Member Retention Increasing; ASQ Featured In Association Publication

Milwaukee, Wis., July 25, 2018 While 25 percent of associations experienced a downturn in membership last year, ASQ is “experiencing a turnaround story in member recruitment, retention, and engagement,” according to an article in Associations Now magazine, a publication of the American Society of Association Executives.

The article, published July 17, features ASQ as an organization reversing the trend of declining membership.

The article shares insights from Marketing General Incorporated’s 2018 Membership Marketing Benchmarking Report, which shows 48 percent of membership-based organizations reported a membership increase last year — up two percent from last year. ASQ participated in the research and is a client of MGI.

In the article, ASQ Marketing Manager Barb Gamez offers ways organizations can reverse declining membership levels. By creating member segments, leading members to renewal, and speaking to member persona’s, ASQ has increased individual full member retention up 4 percentage points in June over last year.

In addition to the article, Gamez said ASQ overall membership retention has increased steadily over the last six months.
