Rob Fairbairn, founder of Delta Pharma Inc. and past chair of this section, will focus on the evolution of the Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) as related to the Pharmaceutical industry, along with some examples of the difficulties encountered in the supply chain of raw materials. Jon Schafer of PACCAR, will represent his point of view for the Automotive sector. Pierre Bédard, a director of Supplier Quality at Pratt &Whitney Canada represent the Aerospace industry.

- ROBERT FAIRBAIRN: is a member of the Quebec Order of Chemists, Robert Fairbairn holds a Ph.D. and MBA from McGill University combined with over 30 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic and Natural Health Product industries. Prior to starting Delta Pharma Inc. in 2000, Robert was Plant Manager at Chemaco Ltd, a private manufacturer of peroxides, etc. for the salon industry, followed by 8 years as Plant Manager at Professional Pharmaceutical, the manufacturer and marketer of the Marcelle line of cosmetics.
- JON SCHAFER: is a supplier Quality Manager with PACCAR, a global firm producing the Kenworth and Peterbilt tractors in NA, DAF in Europe and Leyland in Great Britain. Jon has been with PACCAR for 30 years, working continuously in the Supplier Quality role. Prior to PACCAR, Jon spent 5 years working in Open Pit mining for the Iron Ore Company of Canada in Schefferville Quebec, then 5 years at Continental Can Canada, in Montreal, 3 years as a department supervisor and 2 years a production department head (similar to production manager in other enterprises).
- Pierre Bédard : is a director Supplier Quality at Pratt &Whitney Canada and was recently appointed as Fellow Quality System. He has 35 years of experience in aerospace including over 25 in Supply Management. He has led teams that developed creative and innovative new business solutions to improve efficiency, product integrity while achieving customer delight.
