DFW ASQ Biomedical Discussion Group presents:
Using Six Sigma Methods to Predict Design and Manufacturing Quality
Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
*** The presentation will be live in Plano and broadcast to facilities located in Fort Worth, Richardson, and Athens. Remote access available. ***
Topic: Using Six Sigma Methods to Predict Design and Manufacturing Quality
Our featured speaker , Paul Drake will discuss the risks (and benefits) of traditional mechanical tolerance analysis methods. He will show how Six Sigma methods minimize these risks by optimizing mechanical tolerances and predicting both manufacturing quality (defects) and design quality (defects) during the design phase.
Featured Speaker: Paul Drake.
Paul is co-founder of MechSigma Consulting, Inc., where he consults and trains in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stacks, and Mechanical Tolerancing for Six Sigma. He worked 20 years for Raytheon (formerly TI Defense Systems) where he started the Mechanical Tolerancing and Performance Sigma Center for Excellence. Paul serves on several ASME standards committees, chairs the Y14/SC5 (GD&T) committee and is vice-chair of Y14/SC5.2, GD&T certification subcommittee. He is co-inventor of three patents relating to mechanical tolerancing. He is editor/author of the Dimensioning and Tolerancing Handbook (McGraw-Hill), a registered Professional Engineer (Texas) and a Six Sigma Blackbelt. He has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and a B.A. in Physics.
