TOPIC: Adventures with AI-Turning Data Into Insights
ABSTRACT: This presentation explores how generative AI can enhance quality practices through data analysis, visualization, and process improvement support. It outlines current AI adoption trends in the workplace, demonstrates practical applications, and compares AI-based tools with traditional software. A case study illustrates how AI-assisted analysis helped identify excessive call wait times and measure the impact of process improvements. The presentation also reviews benefits, challenges, and future plans for AI implementation across industries, highlighting both the promise and limitations of modern AI technologies.
BIO: Kimberly Watson-Hemphill founded Firefly Consulting in 2009, a firm focused on innovation and operational excellence. She co-authored the books Fast Innovation and Innovating Lean Six Sigma. She has degrees in engineering from the University of Michigan and the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Master Black Belt and a Senior Member of ASQ.
