An Innovation in Action Series
Description: 2023 has seen an incredible rise in the interest and money flowing into AI. Most of the attention was brought about by the emergence of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Now, there are many players on the AI landscape, all of which are creating various type of Large Language Models (LLMs) and many ways to utilize these LLMs. We are reaching a peak in the hype curve, both in terms of the proposed magical powers that Generative Pretrained Transformers, GPTs, can exhibit and the hype surrounding the dystopian consequences of a run-away AI rippling our society apart. Neither of these extremes are true and in this talk I will try to demonstrate that this technology is simply a tool, but it is a powerful tool that promises to change our workforce in far broader and impactful ways than the revolution in personal computing, the internet, and the smart phone. This is an exciting time.
In this talk, I will summarize the landscape and try to separate the hype from reality in Generative AI. I will also differentiate it from other fields of Machine Learning and contrast it with Artificial General Intelligence, AGI.
Second, we will discuss and demonstrate some of the key advancements of the last few months in the field such as AI Agent, GPTs, multimodal models, and more.
Finally, I will layout a roadmap for you to move up the AI knowledge curve so that you can take advantage the fantastical and meaningful professional opportunities along with the financial rewards you can achieve by learning to use AI now.
