Note ASQ Excellence (ASQE) asq.org/about-asq/about-asqe runs the ASQ certification and recertification programs.
ASQE was spin-off from ASQ in January 2020 as a separate trade association.
"ASQE is the professional body behind the scenes which develops the Certification Body of Knowledge and manages all aspects of the ASQ certification process.
When individuals pass their certification exam, the certification is branded as ASQ"

Changes via Audit/Benchmark against other Professional Group RU categories and points
Renewal Certifications: CCT, CFSQA, CMDA, CMQ/QE, CPGP, CQA, CQE, CRE, CQSE, CSSBB, CMBB, CSQP, and Lean Six Sigma BB
Need 18 RUs in 3-year renewal cycle – not changed
Journal renewal starts 6 months before 3-year cycle ends
Journal renewal ends 2 months after 3-year cycle ends (changed was 6 months)

A. Employment: Max 10.8 RU – not changed
• Full time 0.3 RU per month or 3.6 RU per year
• part-time 0.15 RU per month or 1.8 RU per year
B. Professional Development: 0.1 RU per hour – no Max (did change each sub-category had own Max
RU values)
B.1. Certification: 2.0 RU per ASQ; 1.0 RU others
B.2. Continuing Education: Learner 0.1 RU per hour; Instructor 0.15 RU per hour
B.3. Publishing/Reviewing
§ Book: Author / Editor = 4.0 RU, Co-Author = 2.0 RU
§ Article: Author = 1.0 RU, Co Author = 0.5 RU
§ Presented Paper / PPT 1.0 RU
B.4. Meetings/Events (includes section meetings)
§ Conferences/Workshops – 1.0 RU per day
§ Seminars/Meetings – 0.1 RU per hour
Note: ASQ Section meetings will be 0.5 RU through 2024; then 0.1 RU starting 2025
