Abstract

In this presentation you will learn how Toyota uses the A3 method of problem solving and analysis along with the use of 5 whys in determining root cause. The approach presented will look beyond just finding the root cause but will also holistically search for all possible failure points. We will also look at the verification process to validate that the true root cause has been identified and that the failure points will not re-occur. Although the concept of root cause analysis is nothing new, the Toyota approach redefines how we identify them and verify closure.
