This presentation explores the concept of systemic root cause, distinguishing it from direct or proximate causes, and demonstrating why sustainable quality improvement requires a systems-thinking approach.

John Nasar has over thirty-five years of extensive experience in the automotive sector. He has worked in Product Design, Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Supply Chain. His experience includes managing teams involved in problem solving and continuous improvement for Product Design, Product Launch, Manufacturing Processes, Customer Service, Marketing, and Supply Chain. John has trained and coached engineering teams in the use of various problem-solving tools and quality standards including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 to achieve quality targets. He is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, a Six-Sigma Black Belt and a licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario
