Topic: 2024 WCQI – Create Lasting Solutions.
Our speakers will discuss topics from the ASQ Member Leader Day and presentations they attended at the Conference. The conference themes focus heavily on the critical role of leadership in driving quality and organizational success. Presentations cover strategies for building strong quality teams through effective hiring, training, and retention practices. Speakers will emphasize the importance of quality leaders communicating the strategic value of quality initiatives across the organization and positioning their companies to be resilient and adaptable in the face of an ever-changing business environment. This includes adopting innovative management practices, embracing sustainability, and demonstrating social responsibility.
In addition to leadership, the presentations will highlight the importance of effective processes in driving organizational success. Experts will share insights on techniques for creative process improvement, resolving bottlenecks, and aligning processes with strategic goals. Presentations will explore leveraging data, metrics, and the latest quality tools and technologies - including machine learning, data science, and software - to measure, analyze, and continuously improve organizational performance, even in virtual work environments.
About the Speakers:
Jessica Coulon is the Sensors & Global Sustainment (S&GS) Supplier Quality Manager for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC), based in Orlando, FL. In this capacity, she is responsible for supplier quality performance for S&GS programs and strategic direction for the line of business.
For eight years at MFC, Jessica worked programs in development, production, and sustainment in hardware and supplier quality roles across multiple lines of business. Some of her notable quality experience includes being the Manufacturing Readiness Lead for a focus development program, establishing quality standards for additive manufacturing, and revitalizing the variability reduction process. Jessica was part of the Lean Six Sigma Training Team, specializing in statistics topics for Green Belt classes. In 2023, she was the Central Supplier Quality Field Operations Manager, ensuring timely and efficient performance of source activities at supplier facilities.
Jessica worked for Enterprise Operations for three years as a Corporate Internal Auditor and then Technical Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Operations.
Raised in Key West and Jacksonville, FL, Jessica holds a B.S. Statistics and an M.S. Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida and is a graduate of the LM Operations Leadership Development Program. She is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified Quality Engineer by the American Society for Quality. Jessica is currently the Membership Chair for the ASQ Orlando Section.
Michael Kirchner worked for over 45 years in Quality Assurance. He has worked for the Defense Logistics Agency, IBM Federal Systems, Lockheed Martin, SAIC, and Leidos. He retired from Leidos as the Director of Quality and Process Improvement for Leidos Health Group in 2018. He earned an MS/Information Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School. Michael holds CQA and CMQ/OE certifications with ASQ and is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt (Harrington Institute).
Michael is the current Section Chair for Section 1509 Orlando. Since 1994, he has served the Section in a variety of roles, including chair, chair-elect, treasurer, and internet liaison. Michael received ASQ’s Member Leader Excellence Award in 2012. In 2014, Michael was elected Regional Director for Region 15A (FL, GA, PR) and served through 2018. In 2019, Michael was elected RD for the South Atlantic Region for 2020-2021. He subsequently was elected by the GCC to the ASQ Board of Directors (serving on the Strategic Planning Committee). Michael was reelected as RD in 2021 and reelected to the ASQ Board of Directors. He recently served as Co-chair of the Ethics Policy Taskforce on the BoD.
Michael is also a Citizen Scientist and Master Naturalist, earning the Florida Advanced Master Naturalist and Land Steward certifications. He is actively engaged in natural science education, habitat restoration, and invasive species control.
