Our December 3rd meeting will be held as a Virtual Meeting with both a program and tutorial.

Susan Gorveatte is our guest speaker.  Susan Gorveatte, President of Gorveatte Consulting Inc., trains Internal and Lead Auditors across North America and currently resides in Nova Scotia where she lives with her husband, two University Graduate kids, and two cats. She is an active Member of ASQ, holding positions with the Quality Management Division, Audit Division, and is Chair of the Technical Program Committee for ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement.  She is also a rock drummer and a fan of Star Wars and all things Disney.  Susan can often be found wandering around a Disney theme park on her time off.

The program topic for the evening is "Building Your AUDIT CHARACTER-istics."

It takes more than a roll of the dice to build a character that can be a successful auditor, and it takes more than a game board to build an audit team that can tackle any audit challenge (20-sided dice anyone?).  Designed for the young auditors and the seasoned young-at-heart auditors, participants in this interactive workshop will network with each other, conduct a self-assessment of their audit behaviors, get to share their own audit strengths, learn from each other and understand how to build effective audit teams to meet any challenge that any may be thrown at them.

Beware: there is fun, sharing, and learning to be had ahead!

  • Introduction
  • Good audits begin with great introductions
  • Team building
  • Traits of a Successful Auditor
  • Closing and thank you

After the program, the tutorial topic is "Networking and Auditing Skills"

While we might think that networking and collaborating are great ideas, we often don’t really know how to make them happen. What does that mean for us in terms of auditing? What should we know? What skills do we need? What complementary skills should our audit team members have? This activity teaches how to build the best audit team, to deepen and strengthen the auditor connections with the interviewee while building collaborations within the team.
