"Sampling Plans" Talk Description:

What are sampling plans, and what can they do for us?  Whether it is lot release, validation, or process monitoring, sampling plans are used frequently in many areas including manufacturing and R&D.  During this session, you’ll learn about the requirements for a sampling plan to be statistically valid.  An overview of non-parametric and parametric sampling plans as well as the operating characteristic (OC) curve follows.  Understanding the OC curve will allow you to assess the design of a sampling plan to make sure that it will suit your needs.  Finally, you’ll learn about important rules of sampling that are needed to make sure we properly execute the sampling plans that have been designed.  A good sampling plan design with poor execution often leads to incorrect decisions.

Guy’s presentation will have a live “quiz” game where attendees can compete against each other anonymously via a web-based app.  Will you be the winner and take home bragging rights as you reveal your identity at the end of the game?
