Presenters:

David B. Levy – 2026 ASQ Chair

Education: David B. Levy holds an M.S. in Operations Management from NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering (formerly Polytechnic University) and a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He has also earned four professional certifications from ASQ (CMQ/OE, CQE, CQA, and CQIA), reflecting a deep foundation in quality management principles.

Professional Background: Levy has been involved in the quality profession for over 40 years. He is currently the Director of Quality and Safety at Boyce Technologies, Inc. in New York, and he is the Principal of his own firm, Levy Quality Consulting, LLC. Over his career, he has served as a quality director, manager, engineer, auditor, and consultant across various industries – including telecommunications, defense and commercial electronics, distribution, food manufacturing, ceramics, and plastics. This broad experience has equipped him with extensive expertise in quality assurance, quality system implementation, and auditing for diverse sectors .

ASQ Involvement: A longstanding member of ASQ, Levy became active in ASQ leadership in the mid-1990s and has served the Society in numerous roles since 1994. He is an ASQ Fellow and has contributed tirelessly as a volunteer leader. Levy’s service includes membership on the ASQ Board of Directors, chairing the Section Affairs Council (SAC) – now known as the Geographic Communities Council (GCC) – in both Chair and Vice-Chair capacities, and serving terms as a Regional Director. He has also lent his expertise as ASQ’s Parliamentarian and on key committees such as Bylaws and Nominating committees. Notably, he held virtually every leadership position in his local Tappan Zee Section (Section 302) – including Section Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor, and Webmaster – over decades of volunteer service. In recognition of his contributions, the Tappan Zee Section even named a “David Levy Meritorious Service Award” after him to honor exceptional long-term service.

Levy’s leadership within ASQ culminated in his election as Chair-Elect for 2025, which positions him to serve as the ASQ Chair in 2026. In this capacity, he will chair ASQ’s Board of Directors and help steer the society’s strategic direction. Levy has expressed enthusiasm about leading ASQ’s diverse community of quality professionals, stating he is “excited to lead our dedicated team of servant-leaders as we continually grow ASQ’s diverse community into the place where all quality-minded people strive to belong”.

Sid Bhatnagar – CEO of ASQ (American Society for Quality)

Education: Sid Bhatnagar earned dual degrees in Management Information Systems and  Corporate Communications from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater. This educational background in both technology and communications has underpinned his approach to quality and operations management.

Professional Background: Bhatnagar is a seasoned executive with over 15 years of leadership experience spanning multiple industries (with a particular focus in the financial services sector). Throughout his career, he has specialized in driving continuous improvement by optimizing people, processes, and technology. Bhatnagar has led large, enterprise-wide initiatives that streamlined operations, mitigated risks, and improved service quality, resulting in significant performance improvements and cost savings. He is known for building and coaching high-performing cross-functional teams and for fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration in fast-changing environments. Prior to his top leadership role, much of Bhatnagar’s experience was in the financial services industry, where he developed a creative and entrepreneurial approach to tackling complex challenges.

ASQ Involvement and Roles: Sid Bhatnagar’s involvement with ASQ has been as a senior executive on the staff side of the Society. He joined ASQ’s headquarters in 2020 as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In that role, he focused on the organization’s technology strategy and digital infrastructure. Bhatnagar’s success as CIO led to his promotion to Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ASQ, where he oversaw day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. In May 2023, during a period of transition, he was appointed Interim CEO of ASQ. Over an eight-month interim tenure, he demonstrated visionary leadership and helped navigate the Society through organizational changes.

Thanks to that performance, in December 2023 ASQ’s Board named Sid Bhatnagar as the permanent CEO of ASQ, the chief executive role he holds currently. “Sid has demonstrated an exceptional ability to navigate complex challenges, drive operational excellence, and foster a  culture of innovation,” noted the 2023 ASQ Chair in the announcement of his appointment.

As CEO, Bhatnagar now leads ASQ’s global operations and strategy, working closely with the  Board and the Society’s volunteer leaders to advance ASQ’s mission of promoting excellence through quality. Under his leadership, ASQ aims to expand its impact and member value by leveraging his expertise in team-building and stakeholder collaboration. Bhatnagar’s background in both technology and quality management positions him well to guide ASQ in an era where digital transformation and quality practices intersect.
