Biography
Ron Sedlock is celebrating his 50th year as a quality professional. He began his career by studying with Dr. W. Edwards Deming and Dr. Joseph M. Juran. He holds multiple ASQ Certifications.
He is a military veteran having served with the 1st Cavalry in Vietnam.
He has worked for 3 major corporations and has continued his work as a quality catalyst for well over 100 companies. He is now semi-retired, and his current goals are to help local ASQ Sections thrive and to help people new to the quality profession.

It has been over a hundred years ago that Dr. Walter A. Shewhart first showed a control chart to his boss. This was the beginning of the quality movement. Shewhart directly influenced both Dr. Deming and Dr. Juran. Lately I have seen a major drift from basic quality principles.
The purpose of this presentation is to study the wisdom of Shewhart, Deming and Juran. Then what is the connection with current events such as Six Sigma and AI. As quality professionals we need to be vigilant to “the drift” and go back to basics.
