Introduction to Statistics provides students with foundational knowledge and practical applications of statistical concepts, emphasizing quality improvement processes. This lecture explores data collection, analysis, and interpretation techniques essential for decision-making in various fields. Topics include introduction to quality improvement, quality management systems, and statistical process control (SPC). Through hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, students will develop problem-solving skills to enhance quality and efficiency within systems, aligning statistical methods with continuous improvement objectives. This course is ideal for those seeking to integrate statistical thinking into organizational strategies.

Chelsea Nowicki is an accomplished industrial systems consultant based in Lancaster, NY. She is the owner of CJM & Assoc Enterprises, LLC. Chelsea holds a Master of Engineering Management from the University at Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Quality from Buffalo State College. Their academic excellence was recognized with the Outstanding Student Award and consistent placement on the Dean’s List. She is also a dedicated volunteer at the WNY Peace Center, PinsUp4ACause and participates in many local charity events throughout the year.

With over a decade of professional experience, Chelsea has developed a robust skill set in project management, emotional intelligence, leadership and quality systems management. They have demonstrated expert competencies by improving process yields, quality function deployment, strategic planning and filling critical roles such as Management Representative in ISO certified organizations.

In addition to her professional roles, Chelsea is a Certified Quality Engineer through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and holds certifications as an AS9100 Lead Auditor and an ISO 9001:2015 & 13485:2016 Internal Auditor. They are an active member of the ASQ Buffalo NY chapter, currently serving as Board Secretary, and continuously enhancing their expertise and staying current with industry standards.
